The hardware system architectures of audio multiplexing and demultiplexing in standard definition video signals based on SMPTE 272M are proposed. And then, the working principles and design processing of these two systems are analyzed in detail. Finally, the application of audio multiplexing and demultiplexing in digital broadcasting system is described.
